Today I celebrate 900 days of sunsets! I decided to go somewhere new that I haven't been before to celebrate. This reminds me of a modern day Stonehenge. It's such a magnificent sight to see in person. It's breathtaking! It's by renowned Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone featuring his 7 Magic Mountains each standing thirty to thirty-five feet high. It consists of 33 boulders that weigh anywhere from 40,000 to 56,000 pounds each. This art installation took 5 years from start to finish to create and will be displayed until May 2018. Not to be missed!
It's funny, I can't even remember what life was like before never missing a sunset. It's like breathing or working out. It's a necessity. It's who I am. It brings me such joy! As I was standing there waiting in anticipation, the colors began to change. I could feel the excitement of being a little kid and seeing something for the very first time. You just stand there in awe. In that moment, it was like everything aligned for me and God looked down at me and said, "great job girl!" My reward was a beautiful backdrop for staying committed. That's what happens when you commit to things and stay disciplined every day--everything aligns! We live for these moments. It's something you never forget. It makes me smile just thinking about it and it's something no one can ever take from you. I can look back on each one and remember how I felt in that moment. Some people tell me, "it won't hurt you to miss just one." Actually, it won't hurt them. I would be very disappointed in myself. Why would I want to start over after coming this far? I realize it's not that big a deal to most people, but to me it is. I take it very seriously and don't even think about trying to get me to miss one--it's not happening! It's non-negotiable until I decide I don't want to do it anymore. One day, I might be like Forrest Gump and just decide to stop running for no reason but until that happens I'm never missing a sunset!
Every day is new and exciting and no one is the same just like each one of us. It's like meditation to me. It brings me such peace and I am grateful I am able to share it. So, no matter what you are doing in your life, if you love it, keep doing it no matter what anyone else says. Remember, there is no other person like you on this planet! That's pretty awesome! You were put here to share things in a way no one else can. Embrace that! Do what makes you the happiest and never miss a sunset! The world needs more happy people!
